Toronto Artist /

Cultural Ambassador

Robbie Jodha is a distinguished Toronto-born artist of first-generation mixed descent, with a rich cultural heritage blending Portuguese and Guyanese influences. Deeply embedded in the city's dynamic and diverse creative landscape, Robbie has established himself as a significant artistic voice, representing both Toronto and Canada through his unique and evocative work.

Robbie’s journey is rooted in a family legacy defined by resilience and entrepreneurial spirit. His parents, who met at an Adidas factory in Toronto, overcame cultural challenges—his mother hailing from a Portuguese background and his father from a West Indian Guyanese background. Their partnership led to the founding of a successful printing business, which later expanded into a paper company. Despite facing economic challenges, the business continues to operate in Guyana, symbolizing the enduring entrepreneurial spirit that Robbie inherited, particularly from his father, who demonstrated the power of building an empire from the ground up.

Immersed in this entrepreneurial environment from a young age, Robbie gained invaluable experience in business management, signage, and printing, particularly through his involvement in his brother's printing business. However, his true passion has always been in the arts.

Robbie’s life in Toronto has profoundly shaped his artistic perspective. He is deeply connected to the city’s eclectic energy and its vibrant subcultures, including the tech-house, techno, hip hop, drum n bass, jungle, dubstep, rave, graffiti, art, and fashion scenes. His work reflects the raw, authentic energy of Toronto's streets, capturing the essence of the hood life, nightlife, rave culture, and underground movements that define the city.

Despite significant personal challenges, including the separation of his parents, the heartbreak of being taken advantage of by others, and surviving near-death experiences on the streets, Robbie has remained steadfast in his commitment to his art and to supporting those around him. He embodies a selflessness passed down from his mother, often prioritizing the aspirations and well-being of others over his own. He continues to offer compassion and support to those navigating their own struggles.

Robbie pursued formal art education at Seneca College, where he studied art fundamentals and animation. Although life’s challenges prevented him from completing his studies, he remained dedicated to refining his craft, using art as a therapeutic outlet to overcome obstacles.

Robbie’s vision extends beyond his personal artistic journey; he is committed to representing Toronto as one of the world’s foremost creative hubs. His work honors the diverse cultures that make up this city, including the Indigenous roots that are foundational to Canada. Robbie believes that acknowledging these roots, alongside celebrating new beginnings and the blending of cultures, is essential to truly embodying a nation built on creative and successful growth.

After years of struggle, Robbie has finally found his soulmate, who has not only supported him but has also helped him maintain his "crazy idea machine" mind while pursuing her own passions. She believes Robbie deserves to be known for his unique style, hard work, and his motivation to inspire others toward self-worth, passion, dreams, and art. Together, they push each other to achieve their goals, creating a dynamic partnership that fuels their creative journeys.

Robbie holds deep respect and love for his strong mother, educated sister, business-driven father, and supportive soulmate. He also values the close friendships that have endured over the years, just as he has remained steadfast in his support for those he cares about. This close-knit circle of family and friends has been a constant source of motivation and inspiration throughout his life.

At his core, Robbie is driven by a simple yet profound desire: to see everyone thrive—well-fed, happy, and empowered to pursue their passions, art, and dreams. He is committed to sharing his artistic vision with the world, guided by the principles of peace, love, music, dance, and art. As a dedicated representative of Toronto and Canada, Robbie is determined to give back to the city and his family, firmly believing that life’s blessings are meant to be shared.

Robbie Jodha is more than just an artist; he is a Toronto icon and a Canadian cultural ambassador, embodying the rich creative heritage of his city and country. His journey serves as an inspiration, demonstrating that with perseverance, creativity, and a deep connection to one’s roots, a successful and impactful life in the arts is not only possible but transformative for all involved. His work stands as a testament to the enduring power of art to inspire, heal, and unite communities.

YaSure

The New Original

YaSure is more than just a brand; it is the expression of love toward art and human curiosity. Since his teen years, Robbie has drawn inspiration from various sources, improving his art style through drawing, inking, graphic design, illustration, graffiti, and animation. Post-high school, his creativity expanded into fashion, envisioning a future where art and fashion coexist seamlessly.

Robbie mapped out a vision for YaSure, a fashion and art empire that emphasizes Canadian-made clothing to support local craftsmanship and reject overseas cheap labor. Despite the challenges, YaSure aspires to be a symbol of handmade quality and creativity. The rebranded debut gallery for YaSure, themed in black and gold, was intended to showcase various series, including the abstract series, YaSure character series, YaSure sculpture series, YaSure patterned world, and YaSure Collectible Series. However, the pandemic in 2020 interrupted these plans, although it did not stop Robbie from creating more painted pieces and illustrations.

This style of art, characters, illustrations, murals, and fashion has been planned but needed help for a while. For the direction it needs to be, the people, the community shall help YaSure be the empire we need for the art and fashion world.

The vision for YaSure is not only to showcase Robbie's hard work but also to support other artists. By helping YaSure, the community can contribute to a larger movement that supports and elevates fellow artists globally.

Robbie Jodha's journey has been marked by significant heartache, loss, and life challenges, which have delayed his ability to properly and efficiently showcase his art to the world.
